gawd help us all

yes, i've started a blog. you can all thank diana for it, since she's the one who made the suggestion. the idea behind it is, well, me venting about my life and soliciting advice from those of you out there who actually give a damn. hello? anyone?

a few ground rules:

• my parents really don't need to know about this (doug - keep yer trap shut)
• my boss really doesn't need to know about this (tammy & christine - likewise)
• if i am terribly boring/histrionic/ridicuous/etc., you must let me know

actually, that's about it. my plan is to put the iPod on shuffle and blog about thoughts/experiences conjured by the first song that comes up. this could be really good or really bad. the blog title is a fabulous david byrne song, and so apropos, as our recent adventures in parenting and my precarious job situation leave me feeling as if i'm marching through said wilderness quite often.

oh, and i really don't feel like using caps. let me know if this bothers you. no, wait, don't. i don't have the energy to press that stupid shift key, so if you don't like it, you can suck it.
